Rachel Hillery is an artist working in performance, writing, and photography. Hillery explores cultural constructions of gender and power dynamics, through physical expressions such as gesture and voice. Her process draws from slippages and word plays found through her research in psychology, literature, poetry, and popular culture. Hillery’s work has been featured in group exhibitions in New York, Miami, and Houston. Hillery holds a BA/BFA from Washington University in St Louis, Master of Architecture from Columbia University, and will receive her MFA from Hunter College in Spring 2019. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
